Who The F*** Are You?
Updated: Dec 21, 2022
Is a question you should all be able to answer
And if you're still thinking about it now, you have work to do...

Just like I started doing five years ago after leaving a job that was not for me
It was scary at the time, but now I understand how important my decision really was
For once in my life, I actually took a decision for myself, and not for all my friends and family
In fact, many of the people around me at the time thought I was making a big mistake
But I knew deep inside that I could not keep going in the same direction
You see, it wasn't only my work that I disliked at that time
I didn't like the person I was becoming either
And that's not living at all...
A Step Back
My childhood was tough
And I know many of you can relate
But you all have the ability to break the cycle...
If you are willing to put in the work and go deep within
Because I'm finding that this is where most of the answers are
Deep inside yourself, where no one else can really see, except for you
Which means you need to be honest with yourself if you want to make a change
For me, it was accepting that fact that I was much more than a good insurance salesman
Sales was something that I was taught and trained to do well throughout my 20's
But it wasn't a role that I was in love with, and I hated what we were selling
That said, the money was good and my friends were impressed
And it's why being honest with yourself is so important
Yeah, I liked the money and all the perks too
But it wasn't worth all the sacrifice
To be someone else...
Your Future Self
Sometimes we get lost
Enjoying all the pleasures of today
While not taking the time to align with our goals...
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of being present as possible
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't take the time to make sure you're on track
Yeah, the track might even been a bit unclear, but having some direction always helps
It's this direction that allows us to align within and reach our personal goals
That said, you need to have an idea of who you really want to be
And that's where your future self comes into the picture
But for me, the process was a bit backwards
Because the future self I was creating
I clearly didn't want to be...
Acceptance
You can be honest with yourself
But it doesn't mean you have to accept it
That said, once you accept it, you can actually change it...
This was a tough lesson for me to learn, but it's one you must learn too
Because to actually change anything in your life, you are going to have to take action
And you won't take any action until you accept that there is a problem that needs to be fixed
It's exactly what I did 5 years ago though, and it allowed me to make a big change
First, I had to be honest with myself and the situation I was in at the time
Then I had to accept it as my reality, which made it even worse
Leaving you with only two options at the end of day
1) Keep living the life I built for others
or
2) Make a radical change
And build my own...
The Lesson
Life will never get easy
And hard times will come and go
But you can make the hard times much easier...
By taking the time to be honest with yourself and accept it
This simple process outlined above will drive you in a new direction
A direction that is aligned with YOU and not necessarily the people around you
This was the big mistake that I was making over an over again for most of my adult life
I never took the time to step back and evaluate my situation and my true needs
Instead, I listened to what other people said and started to accept it
And I had no idea if they were being honest with me at all
Let alone with themselves...see the problem here?
I do, it's clear, I had no idea who the f*** I was
And it's why I started putting in the work
Just like you all need to do as well
So that you know damn well
Who the f*** you are...
With Love,
