Nobody Likes Applying For Jobs
Which is why I've avoided it for 10+ years.
And I don't plan on applying for a job ever again...

That said, the average person doesn't usually have this choice.
Instead, you're forced to follow the normal route and send the application.
Then you have to wait to see if you even get a chance to speak to someone about it.
While competing with 100's if not 1000's of other applicants for the same job.
And your only opportunity to differentiate yourself is a piece of paper.
Which leaves little room for you to show who you really are.
On top of that, one spelling mistake and you're out.
It's a shitty process, and I'm not a fan at all.
Luckily, I found a much better way.
That I'll share with you today...
The Network
I used to hate networking.
But that was before I knew myself.
And the value that I could provide others.
Once I figured this out, networking became my ammo.
Because without it, there was no way I was going to find opportunities.
Opportunities to share my story and connect with people who needed my help.
And it doesn't matter if you're an entrepreneur or an employee, you're always helping.
But if you want people to know how you can help, you need to be networking.
Fortunately, networking can be done in multiple different ways today.
You no longer have to rely on only your friends and family.
Or even regular in-person networking events.
You can leverage social networks.
And build even quicker...
The Social Dilemma
It's been a hot topic for years.
Is social media good for us or bad for us?
But here's the reality, regardless, it's not going anywhere.
So you have three options...
1) You can resist it all together and decide not to use the platforms.
2) You can decide to use the platforms but not create, and only consume.
3) You can decide to use the platforms to consume, create, collaborate, and network.
But if you want to stop applying for jobs in the future, only number 3 will help.
Which means you need to find a way to go beyond consuming content.
You need to create content as well and share your unique message.
This will give you opportunities to collaborate and network.
Allowing you to leverage social platforms for good.
Instead of worrying about them being bad.
The dilemma is only inside of you.
Stop pointing your fingers...
The Personal Brand
Here's the thing my friends.
Personal branding isn't a new concept.
In fact, I've been building my brand for years.
But social networks now allow for massive distribution.
And it's this level of distribution that changed everything for me.
Because now, I'm not only getting job opportunities without applying for them.
But I'm also getting inbound leads for my cannabis advising services and coaching services.
All because I decided to start creating content on LinkedIn and build a network.
I'm not oversimplifying it, do this, and your life will change for the good.
Before you know it, you'll have people reaching out to you too.
And eventually, you'll be able to choose your next role.
Instead of just sending in your application.
And hoping someone answers...
The Lesson
No one likes applying for jobs.
Not only does it take a lot of your valuable time.
But there's also not much you can control, it's a real shame...
This is why networking is so important and should not be overlooked.
On top of that, you need to be leveraging both in-person and online networking.
They both have different advantages, but online networking will continue to gain popularity.
And will provide more opportunities than in-person networking because of the scale.
Unfortunately, you as a human can physically only be in one place at a time.
Which means your in-person networking opportunities are limited.
But your content online can be networking for you 24/7.
So that more people are aware of your value.
And how you are able to help them.
So you never apply again...
With Love,
Steven Arthur George
